Feb 2013 Day 2 Progressive Scrap

This is the second Day added to the first. Instructions: Use the heart frame at least once. You are welcome to use the others, as well, but only as additions, one heart frame is a "must".

Feb 13 Digital Scrapbooking Studio Progressive Scrap Day 1

This is the first time I am trying this progressive Scrap it sounds like fun so here is my Day 1. I recolored one of the papers to make more of a burnt red to match the paper for the one heart. Instructions: Pick one paper as your background paper. Cut 1 heart shape each out of all the other papers (size of the hearts is up to you) and add them. (so you have one background paper and 6 different paper hearts)You can recolor and/or crop the pieces or change their opacity but you have to use them as specified in each day's instructions and once placed are not allowed to move them. Make sure you save your layout in a .psd format so you are able to place new pieces below others if you should wish to do so.

CS2 Day 8 new or old technique

I put different Washi tape on this card and stamped a sentiment, added a heart at the end. Very simple but fun technique~ God bless!

CS2 Day 9 Texture

I'm not sure if this card really qualifies for clean and simple (it is not especially clean nor simple, although maybe Jennifer would think so ;). It does have texture and that is what I was going for with the background white embossed on watercolor paper then swiped through distress inks for the background) just added a few (that magic #3) hearts to it and used it for my niece's birthday card. Oh and I added a banner strip on the inside and small paper strip on the bottom to add a bit more of the blue and tie it all together. I love the colors!

CS2 Day 6 another way to use the sketch I made

When you turn the sketch I made around I came up with this idea.

CS2 Day 6 sketches

On Day 6 of the onlinecardclasses CS2 class we were supposed to use a sketch that was already done for you. I had my own thought of a very easy sketch with hearts coming down the page and a sentiment for Valentine's Day saying falling for you... So here is my version.

CS2 Day 4 Blue print

This card I made I will probably use for an Anniversary card. I think it would have been better being masked but will have to try that at a later date!

CS2 Day 8 Chalkboard with a little pop

When the neon pink didn't work I decided to try putting white ink down first then the neon on top. Not super neony but I do like the effect of the two together for a clean and simple card. What do you think?

CS2 Day 4 Chalkboard look

I decided to try my hand at the chalkboard look so this is my first try. I was going to use a neon ink to pop off the page but the black cardstock kind of ate it up! So then I put white ink over that and white embossing powder.

CS2 Day 3:inking and stamping techniques 2nd card

This card I made with nice bright colors but the stamp I used did not lend itself well to the gradient stamping technique. I needed a baby card so I thought the sentiment I added was fitting as I LOVE all babies!!! THey are all adorable, lovely and sweet! Well this turned out well, better than I thought it would when I figured out the stamp wasn't so great for this technique...

CS2 Day 3:inking and stamping techniques

Day 3 of the Clean and Simple Card class at onlinecardclasses.com. I decided to try stamping in a technique called gradient stamping. This first attempt wasn't too bad but I should have stamped off more with this new stamp as the first few colors did not come off well and look weak...Live and learn right?! (not so sure but I do need to!)

CS2 Day 2: One layer cards another attempt

Here is a 2nd attempt at a clean and simple one layer card...

CS2 Day 2: One layer cards

This weekend I got a chance to do some of the homework for a card class I am taking online through onlinecardclasses.com. The idea is a card that has created the illusion of dimension and depth on flat surfaces. Here is my first attempt I made:
Clean and Simple design has never been one of my strong points. Although I have always enjoyed the cards that others make. Definitely stretching me!! HAHA! (Ah my back feels better already!) Made for Simon Says....Have a Heart Challenge~
