Creative Chemistry Play Day 5 Shabby Chic Tag 4
Lastly I did a tag that was using the same CTMH stamp set and changed it up to try white embossing powder and Victorian Velvet Distress Paint. This reminds me of the chalkboard look, I cut this out and will be adding it to a journaling card. I might add another layer of paint, we shall see... What do you think of this?
Creative Chemistry Play Day 5 Shabby Chic Tag 3
For this tag I used Barn Door Distress Paint and same Close to My Heart stamp set. I added the sweet and outlined the small label with Signo white gel pen, my all time favorite! I am thinking I will be using this as a Project Life card.
Creative Chemistry Play Day 5 Shabby Chic Tag 2
This tag I used a Close to my Heart Stamp set and Distress paint Picked raspberry. Same type process...
Creative Chemistry Play Day 5 Shabby Chic Tag 1
I took Tim Holtz's Creative Chemistry class 102 (By the way 101 and 102 are the best and WELL worth the money) this past week and this is the first chance I have gotten to play with it. So hopefully this week (although it is not too promising) I will get a chance to try a few more techniques. First of all Tim makes everything look easy and I am so glad I have the videos to watch over and over and over (I am sure you get the drift but it will be a lot!)... I wanted to start with Day 5 since I had just recently seen this but unfortunately the only one I had the supplies for was the shabby chic which is not too much my style but wanted to try for fun! I started with black paper not too thick and I think I would like to try it again with thicker cardstock and trying to paint black first. I also only had extra fine clear instead of the regular so that would have been better too. So my first try I used Mama Elephant Filigree (I am in love with this stamp~just so you know <3! and clear embossing powder, heat set and then put distress paint salty ocean on and wiped away after a bit. Very fun but putting the paint on with the blending tool is going to take some practice for me not as easy as it looked when Tim did it! So my first one is here:

Week in the Life Sept 9, 2013
I love the concept of doing a week in our life because it is hard to remember what really did happen. Sometimes I think it will be this way for a long time...but alas time does go super fast and it is always fun to look back at these pages.

Insider Online Card Classes 4th Card
This card was a lot of fun to make and I am hoping Kristina Werner will be doing a mail call for winter cards down the road I would like to send her this one. It is made with the CTMH stamp set Poster Tidings the stamp of the month for September. I used the swirl embossing folder on the background ( I love this one) and the circle was cut from one of the MFT blueprints die and snowflake from them as well ( I really like the stitch line around it). I used viva decor pen that was iridescent on the snowflake too. Also have to have some stitching around the outside for Kristina! On the inside I used some letter stickers from the SSS Card Kit for Sept. and a hero arts Christmas stamp set that I masked off some of the sentiment to just have the THE stamped like the front chalkboard and the rest of the sentiment with a few gems around it for the finishing off of the card.

Insider Online Card Classes 3rd Card
This card took me a bit out of my comfort zone. But really fun to play with the distress stains and artsy stamps... Double stamped the sentiment and then similar on the inside as well. It was fun and I really do like the result. What do you think?

Insider Online Card Classes 2nd Card
I made this card for a good friend of mine who had a birthday recently. The items on the left are die cuts and tehn I stamped the sentiment in white first and then in the color to appear shadowed and to get the true ink color to show (everything seems muted on kraft card stock). I added a strip of colored cardstock and wash tape. Then in the inside I continued with the washi tape and sentiment stamped the same way.
